Thomas Martin Conroy (Ecumenical Advocate ) graduated from the Master in Divinity program at Virginia Theological Seminary in May of 2024. Since then, he has been working with the intellectual and developmental disability population and soldier recovery unit at Fort Riley (Manhattan, Kansas) in the context of drama therapy. As an actor and musician, he has toured nationally with In The Mood, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Grease, Crazy For You, Cabaret, The Paris LIDO, and Pokemon LIVE! Favorite roles include Anthony Chapman in End of the Rainbow (Music Theatre of Connecticut and The Grandel in St. Louis), and Herbie in Precious Nonsense (The Kitchen Theatre, Ithaca); and back-up quartet for Bernadette Peters in Concert (Orpheum, San Francisco). Abigail Hastings (Alliance of Baptists) is a writer, editor, occasional producer and occasional preacher and most of all, a “Tex Yorker” (from Dallas, 45 years in NYC). These days she writes mitigation reports for immigrants, helps lead retreats, and is working on a film about her activist mentor, Arlene Carmen. She loves her work as an archivist at Judson Church (Alliance of Baptists, American Baptist and UCC) and hanging out with rescue dog Henry.

He was ordained in 2017 by the Non-Denominational Protestant American Fellowship Church.
From September 2014 to January 2021, he served as chaplain to the uniformed personnel of the EMS division of the New York City Fire Department. Since April 2019, he has served as pastoral counselor at Chelsea Community Church.

Revd Linda Tarry-Chard (United Church of Christ) served as Associate Minister for Membership, Care and Parish Life at The Riverside Church of New York City for nearly 14 years. The Founding President of the Project People Foundation (PPF), a nonprofit organization that funds education and social justice programs for adults and children in South Africa and the United States. Since 2008 PPF has collaborated with Splash Fit Swim Club to provide free life-saving swimming skills and a healthy outlet for fitness and fun to students living in Harlem and the South Bronx. Tarry-Chard provides clergy supply for churches in the tri-state area. She holds an M.S. degree in education from Fordham University and an Masters of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary.

The Revd Lisha Epperson (Episcopalian) is Assistant Priest at St. Peter's Chelsea. She is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary and received her Master of Arts in Ministry from General Theological Seminary. Lisha is a professionally trained dancer who has taught dance to hundreds of children in the NYC public school system and brings to her work in ministry a love for the creative and performing arts. More recently, she founded the Creative Arts Project - a free arts enrichment program for children in Harlem. Lisha and her husband Rodney are native New Yorkers and parents to five children.

Revd Gerardo Ramirez has served as a supply pastor at Good Shepherd Church on Roosevelt Island since 2013. Previously he was for 12 years Priest in Charge at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Carle Place, NY., and a protestant chaplain at Coler Memorial Hospital on Roosevelt Island and other hospitals in New York City.

Revd Diane Trinkaus has been a non-denominational Christian minister for 15 years. Upon graduation from high school, Diane spent 8 years a member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph order of nuns.
After leaving the order, Diane worked for 32 years as a public school educator; and she was honored with the prestigious Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award.
Following her 1989 diagnosis of breast cancer, Diane turned to painting as a connection to her spiritual self, a spiritual practice she continues to today. Her experience as a 34-year cancer survivor has made her uniquely qualified for her work as a volunteer at the Hudson Valley Hospital infusion center. At this center, she has been able to offer emotional support and spiritual guidance to patients as they face their cancer diagnoses and chemotherapy treatment. She has also volunteered at Hudson Valley Hospital for a powerful national cancer advocacy program called No One Dies Alone, or NODA.
Diane is now on her sixth year as guest lecturer at the Utica College School of Nursing. Her course, Spirituality in Nursing, focuses on guiding future caregivers toward serving the physical and spiritual needs of their patients; while also nourishing their own spiritual well-being.

Rasheed Hart - Mother’s Day
Rasheed Hart (Nondenominational) Following his release in 2017, Rasheed Hart graduated from both Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business and CUNY Urban School of Labor. He held an internship in community organizing at The Black Institute, and in 2018 he established the renowned NYC Barbershop Museum, a center dedicated to preserving cultural heritage. Rasheed has been deeply committed to addressing the pressing issue of gun violence, and he began working with the Center for Justice Innovation in 2020. In 2021, he was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Probation for his contributions to the Echoes Be Ready program, which addresses the ongoing challenges of employment and gun violence. Rasheed has also served as a job developer, facilitating the placement of over 70 unemployed participants and providing hope and opportunities to those facing adversity. He had a longtime friendship with the late CCC member Kathy Reid. Rasheed holds certifications in Ministry and Human Services from Rising Hope Inc.

Her work is a continual exploration of how we show up—physically, spiritually, and relationally—inviting others into the vulnerable and transformative negotiation of meaning that unfolds in shared spaces.

Revd Dr. José Miguel Román was born and raised in New York City. His mother and father originally came from Puerto Rico. He is a graduate of the City University of New York where he attained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics; he then went on to New York University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor. In May of 2016 he received his Doctorate in Ministry at the New York Theological Seminary. He was also ordained an Interfaith/Interspiritual Minister in 2014.
Dr. Román’s professional life has been dedicated to public service around the world. In the past 30 years he has worked around the world on issues as varied as youth development, LGBT civil rights, HIV/ AIDS, vaccine research, and international emergency relief and development. Dr. Román has visited or worked in nearly twenty countries (and has helped manage programs in another 50-to-60).
Dr. Román has worked in research administration for nearly fifteen years, which has included serving in leadership roles at Columbia University and New York University. Presently he is the Vice President of Research Administration at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, where he serves as one of the institution’s most senior research administrators.

Gary Ryan ThM (Episcopalian) Gary studied basic Clinical Pastoral Education while a chaplain at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and did his advanced psychotherapeutic training and supervision at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in NYC where he was the Chief Resident Chaplain during the height of the AIDS crisis. More recently he also worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC as a chaplain during the height of the Covid crisis.
Gary studied philosophy at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and theology at Harvard Divinity School. He has written for the Associated Press, represented the Archbishop of Canterbury at the United Nations, and taught chess in NYC’s inner city, where the present World Rank No. 2 player was one of his early students.
From Mississippi, Gary presently lives in Brooklyn, writes poetry and short stories. He loves art, travel, and flyfishing; and he claims New Orleans as his second city.

Mel Lehman (Mennonite) grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He received a Master of Arts in theology from Union Theological Seminary and an Master of Arts in literature from Columbia University. He worked for the first 20 years of his career at the National Council of Churches as an editor in international humanitarian issues.
In 2009 he founded a non-profit organization called Common Humanity which works to build understanding, respect, and friendship between Americans and the Middle East and Arab world. Common Humanity organizes exhibits of paintings by Middle East artists to help Americans better understand the humanity and rich culture of the people there.
He is a long-time deacon at his home congregation, Manhattan Mennonite Fellowship, and a lay preacher.
